Air Source Heat Pump Installation, Energy Efficient Systems & Green Sustainability, Renewable Heat Incentive
Air Source Heat Pumps [ASHP’s] such as the Ecodan range from Mitsubishi Electric represent some of the most advanced and innovative technology around. With the rising cost of fuel, many home and business owners are looking for cost effective options to heat homes and other properties. This is an area which is perfectly addressed by ASHP’s as most of the energy they use is sourced from the air outside. It is true that this technology needs a small amount of electricity or gas to function, but this is far outweighed by the amount of green energy these systems produce.
Air Source Heat Pumps are eligible for government schemes such as the Renewable Heat Incentive [RHI], which allows owners of qualifying systems to receive payments. This scheme has been so successful that tariff rates were increased in spring 2017, giving even more incentive to install ASHP’s. Ecodan ASHP’s also qualify for financial incentives like the Microgeneration Certification Scheme [MCS], another concept aimed at promoting green, renewable energy.
Along with their cost saving advantages, ASHP’s are of course an extremely environmentally friendly, low carbon option for heating any property. There is legislation in place which states that before planning permission can be given for new builds, an intention to incorporate a certain level of green technology must be demonstrated. ASHP systems cover part of this criteria, and architectural design takes into account this kind of addition. Older homes can also achieve great results using this form of heat production, as long as they are made thermally efficient. This includes loft insulation, double glazing and cavity wall insulation.
VAT on heating system installations such as Ecodan ASHP’s, is reduced to 5% on capital and installation costs, or those installing these systems into new builds will pay zero VAT. Call us for more information on how ASHP technology can benefit you on 01277 823648
