Air Conditioning for the Workplace
Air conditioning is now fitted as standard in many shops, bars, restaurants, hotels, offices and public buildings. Modern air conditioning is energy efficient and creates the ideal environment customers and staff alike.
SJB Mechanical & Building Services Ltd supply air conditioning systems from all the major manufacturers, including Mitsubishi, Daikin Samsung & Hitachi. Our air conditioning systems are designed and installed to meet the specific needs of each client.
Commercial Air Conditioning – Maintenance Contracts
We have maintenance contracts for several large sites in the London area, Billericay and Wickford, working either direct with the property owner, or through Facilities Management companies.
We deal with major UK insurer Hiscox, at their London location and also service and maintain the air conditioning systems at their offices in Colchester.
We service and maintain the air conditioning systems for Abbott Laboratories and Abbotts House, the major US Pharma Research company. We survey the site every six months and attend to any issue we find. We were recommended to assist in the original systems installation several years ago and now provide a rapid response repair and maintenance service.
In and around London we also work for BAM FM. Servicing the air conditioning systems of a number retail and shopping centres including Harlow, Romford, Southall, Greenwich and Colchester Shopping Centres. For this client we do significant repairs and breakdown response for air conditioning systems.

Air conditioning is increasingly popular in the home. Domestic air conditioning offers you a way of maintaining a comfortable temperature throughout the year. Air conditioning can be installed throughout the home or can be targeted to specific rooms, such as bedrooms and living rooms.

Air Conditioning Servicing & Maintenance

We operate servicing and maintenance contracts for companies throughout Essex, London and the surround areas, including Billericay and Wickford. Air conditioning servicing is carried out at regular intervals throughout the year at a time that is most convenient to the customer.
It is a criminal offence to install, maintain or service stationary refrigeration, air-conditioning and/or heat pump equipment containing or designed to contain F-Gas refrigerants, without a Company Certificate.
R22 Refrigerant Gas Replacement by R32
R22 is an HCFC refrigerant gas that was regularly used in air conditioning systems installed over the last 20 years. It is now known that HCFC gases including R22 can be damaging to the environment. As part of the phasing out of R22 refrigerants since 2010, R22 is now prohibited from use in new air conditioning systems.
R22 has been banned under EU legislation since 1st January 2015.
SJB Mechanical & Building Services Ltd regularly upgrades air conditioning systems to use alternative refrigerant gases – such as R410A and R32. R32 has become a very popular replacement gas and many manufacturers now install R32 in new kit. The fact that R32 is roughly half the price of R410A is a further incentive for its adoption.
